Spider-man and the Attack of the Green Goblin mobile slot by Playtech looks exactly how you would hope and expect a slot based on Marvel’s stickiest superhero to look like. Mary Jane Watson, New York’s skyline and the Daily Bugle are all your companions on the five reels next to the high card symbols.
Your best friend though, is Spiderman on the right of the reels who will give you random wilds and instant cash through out the base game. The wilds are particularly effective to see you through till you hit one of the many bonus features.
Spiderman mobile slot is all about the bonus games
Look, if we repeated all the features here 1. you wouldn’t be able to discovered them for yourself and 2. you wouldn’t read our bonus features section below the review. Needless to say, they are plentiful, with three free spin features and two click me features.
These are all great fun; some more than others of course. The big problem with this Marvel Spiderman slot machine is that you can’t pick which of the features you get. And considering you have to wait a good 100 to 150 spins to get a special feature it’s a real shame that once you’re there you’re not guaranteed a feature you like or one that will get you big wins.
Generally the free spin features are the best, especially the Radioactive wild free spins. Though we had the most fun during the Spiderman collection bonus which felt more like a mini mobile game that we forgot we were playing a slot.
Not as hard hitting as other Marvel slots
As with all other Marvel mobile slots, Spiderman and the Attack of the Green Goblin is part of the Marvel progressive jackpot pool. However, that’s as much as these slots have in common. As much as we love your friendly neighbourhood spidey, in a fight with The Fantastic Four or The Incredible Hulk… Sorry spidey but… you’d lose. And not just in the comic books, but in the slot world too.
Not to say we didn’t have great fun playing, but generally a ‘big win’ in the base game is about 10x your bet and in the free spins about 30x your bet. It’s not very hard hitting. We do know of some who have managed to get as much as 150x their bet during the right bonus feature, but that’s certainly the exception to the rule.
But it is of lower variance than the other Marvel Playtech slots, so what do you expect? Playtech wasn’t about to release the same game again and again. So Spiderman loses big hits for big entertainment. If only we could have had the choice of the bonus feature, this slot game would have been a solid 4 stars.
